It is seen that the cosmetic laser procedures and chemical treatments have proved too harsh and damaging for those with dark skin. It 'was only a thin skin would react positively to this treatment. That's not fair average dark skin would suffer from burns, pigment discoloration, and excessive flaking. Fortunately, these cosmetic procedures have evolved and today many surgeons specialize in treating African-American skin, or anyone with richer pigmentation.

In the past, the biggest conce
in treating darker skin has been the development of keloid scars after the procedure. Keloids are thick, raised scar tissue that varies in color from pink to dark brown flesh. While generally not dangerous, it can become itchy and often change an undesirable texture and for some, could be the cause of emotional distress. Although people of all skin tones and textures can develop keloids, which have dark skin pigmentation and their descendants are fifteen times more likely to suffer this type of scarring.

For those who are especially prone to keloid scars, there is good news. Non-invasive techniques can provide a significant improvement in the skin, such as procedures like chemical peels and microdermabrasion. For chemical peels, weak acids (even lighter than those used for fair-skinned people) are applied to the skin, at night the color and smoothness of the surface.

Microdermabrasion is a milder treatment. A rough surface texture similar to sandpaper, is used to polish the surface layers of the skin, revealing new layers, without spot below. Both treatments have been used with great success in the African American skin, but it is important to choose a beautician with experience in the challenges of darker skin.

People with more serious skin problems like eczema or acne scars, was a huge success in laser skin coating. This procedure helps flatten scars, dark spots, mixing the natural tone of the skin and tissue. Since lasers are used to lighten the scars, when done improperly, the skin may become mottled pigmentation, and can be reduced too. Spot test a small area concealable body is necessary to make sure you choose a qualified and that the skin can undergo treatment.

Another popular procedure that is now successfully treating darker skin is laser hair removal. Even those with fair skin and blonde hair could not benefit from this treatment. In the past it was mainly used for people who have light skin and dark hair. Now, new technology and methods of using laser hair removal available for most of the skin and hair color combinations. Some types of skin and hair may take more sessions and get the best result, but usually scarring and other complications are very rare. As leather lasers, it is usually possible to request a test.

If you are still conce
ed about the possible development of keloids, pigment discoloration or other complications, consult a qualified stylist or an experienced skin in African Americans to determine whether or not you had a good candidate.
