Is Rebirth Real?

Yes it is. rnThe Enlightened One explains:rnIt is something which may not be verifiable through some physical proof or a laboratory test. However, with a logical and scientific understanding, this fact can certainly be established. There are so many people who have recollected memories of their past life and they are able to narrate their exact experiences there. So, one can go to the past life, but that is not of much importance. Spiritual Science says that There is Reincarnation!rnBirth and rebirth is a cycle. Cause and effect, Effect and cause... The scientific law states that, ‘Any effect cannot exist without a cause.’ From birth to death, and even in the womb, we all go through so many effects. So what is the cause of these effects? Before birth, in the womb, the Soul has not done anything; there is no action there. However, some die in the womb only while some die immediately on delivery. Why did this effect come? This effect has come before birth. It means there must be some cause before birth. Before means when? Before coming into the womb, there must be some cause which gives the effect even in the womb. Which mother and which father does the baby get, how much growth of baby happens, it may be a normal child or a retarded baby, some die in womb, some during delivery and some die immediately after delivery - Why is this difference amongst different babies? This difference can be explained only by the theory of karma, which states that there are different causes of different persons and that is why there is difference in the effects experienced by different babies. rnThis leads us to a logical conclusion that, ‘Any effect cannot be there without any cause; and that cause is in the past life.’ This goes to explain that reincarnation is a fact. Do We All Have Past Lives?rnEven after birth, so many things have happened in life, for which we do not have any explanation: ‘why this happened, what was the reason for it to happen, and why did it happen to me only and not to others?’ So many unexpected things come into our life, don't it? Furthermore, we use the words ‘lucky’ and ‘unlucky’. What is that? Why is one lucky and another unlucky? What is the cause of this luck and bad luck? These words explain the effects of one’s past deeds that he is experiencing right now. ‘If it’s good deeds, one gets the effect in the form of luck. And if bad deeds happen, one gets the effect in the form of being unlucky’- this theory of karma explains that reincarnation is a fact for every living being; we all have past lives! Now, after knowing the theory of karma, if we do not wish to be unlucky in our next life, then we must do the following. For every wrong deed that may have happened by us in this life, we must recall such deeds and sincerely repent before God that, “Oh God! I seek forgiveness for all my wrong deeds. Please forgive me and grant me strength so that I do not do these wrong deeds again. I do not want to hurt any living being, not even in my thoughts, nor through my speech or actions.” It’s due to ignorance that one is binding karma and consequently, one has to take a rebirthrnIf one stops binding karma and finishes all the old karma effects, then one attains liberation. To attain liberation, one must obtain the knowledge of the Self (Self-Realization) from the Living Gnani. Then, following His words, one can very easily attain salvation and thus be free from the cycle of birth, death and rebirth forever.
