You will see this figure all over the internet when trying to find ways to produce leads. What does it really mean? Does it mean that if you start a MLM business and work it for a year and nothing happens? Yes. Most people who get involved in Network Marketing do not stay in the business for that long. That is where the 97% comes in.
If you are like me you were approached by a friend or relative and you did not want to say no. So you joined bought a bottle of product and signed up for auto ship. When the second shipment comes you are surprised. So you call the MLM company and cancel any future deliveries. By this time your sponsor has probably done the same.
You will find that people will distort the truth about Network Marketing to get people to sign on. You are sometimes led to believe that all you have to do is buy some product or a huge amount of product and sit back and watch the money roll in. MLM is no different than traditional business. You have to "show up" to work. You have to get out of your comfort zone. Which most people call a recliner:>)
In traditional businesses you invest a lot of money to get started. When the first obstacle shows up you do not quit. You cannot , because you have too much money invested. You figure out ways to improve your business. With all that you still might fail, but it won't be because you didn't try. With all that being said the failure rate in conventional business is about 95%.
Saying that failure rate in MLM is 97% is far from a true figure. Most distributors quit before they even get started. And the investment is not that big to get started in MLM. Less than the price of dinner for four at a nice restaurant. You are not going to go broke. So it is easy to walk away.
Don't be fooled by the "buy my system Guru's" who are trying to sell you there system for getting leads, although some of them are very good and do work. You have to invest money and most people have a reluctance to invest in themselves. If you are willing to work, spend some time and invest some money to develop your business you will succeed. The biggest decision you will have to make is not to quit! Are you ready to give it your all? Then forget about the 97% and go for it!
