This question is pertaining to the significance of our existence in general. rnWhen one confronts a feeling of nothingness in life, one often wonders... rnWhat is life all about? Is there any meaning in life? Who are we? Why are we here? What are we living for? What is the actual purpose of our existence? rnThis happens because we have not yet located the real goal of human life. When we get decided upon a goal (dhyey), our mind automatically begins to meditate (dhyan) on itrnMeditation means constantly pondering over a subject. The actions that we see being carried out by us at present are the result of the meditation (dhyan) we’ve done in our past life, whereas the present day meditation is what determines our next life. In other words, our present meditation creates the 'design' for our next life!rnSo what should our present meditation be like? What goals should we decide upon? Come, let’s study what goals do the Enlightened beings suggest we keep.Having been born a human, our goal should be: 1.To live life in a manner that no living being ever gets hurt by us.rn2.To have an intent to serve or help others.rn3.To break the bondage that leads to life after life. 1.Life is meant to be lived in a manner that no living being ever gets hurt by us.rnWe, being humans, have the power to maintain awareness in every step of our daily living. Our awareness should be to not cause the slightest hurt to others through the medium of our thoughts, speech and acts. Having said that, as long as the inner enemies of anger, pride, attachment and greed exist within us, we will continue to make mistakes. These enemies are a result of the demerit karmas that we have committed in our past life. And in this life now, we should be actually destroying our mistakes. In order to destroy any mistake, it is important that we accept it and regard it as a mistake, in the first place. But on the contrary, we always tend to protect our mistakes and thereby create bondages for our own infinite rebirths. Gnani, the Enlightened One, helps us by shedding light on our mistakes so that we can identify them; and simultaneously shows us the ways how we do not support or protect them, hereon. Moreover, He gives us a very useful key too to dissolve our mistakes - whenever someone gets hurt by us, we should immediately do pratikraman in our mind. Pratikraman means to return back, as soon as we realize we made the mistake. It includes: ·confessing, ·asking for forgiveness and ·Vowing never to repeat the mistake.rnThis key can open up the most difficult of the locks. So let’s start using it sincerely and heartily!! 2.To maintain a constant, pure inner intent to serve others selflessly in life. Have you seen any trees eating their own fruits? No. The trees teach human beings to give their fruits to others. More than our external actions, our intention to be helpful to others is what really counts. If we have abundance of money or right knowledge or anything else, our intent should be to use it for the purpose of alleviating someone's misery. The Nature’s law is: When we give happiness, we get happiness!! Hence, Gnani gives us this goal of human life to ensure that a pure intent to serve others selflessly remains constantly present within us. This cultivates a beautiful obliging nature in us. 3.Our life is meant for attaining ultimate liberation from the bondage of karmas. rnThis life has to be lived to know how to be free from all miseries. We have wandered aimlessly between different life forms (gatis) (heaven, human, animal, hell) for infinite lives together, the reason being, we did not know our true identity; we have not known our real Self (Pure Soul) so far. The essence of human life is to get the Soul awakened, come into one's nature of the Self, and remain only in Self. However, the actual Soul cannot be experienced from the explanations given in books or scriptures. The real Self is found only with Gnani!!! If we happen to meet the Living Gnani, the Enlightened One who has realized the Self and is able to make us realize the Self, we can attain Self-Realization from Him and get onto the path of ultimate liberation. Thereafter, remaining in the company (satsang) of Gnani and following His words diligentlyrn·we get all our puzzles solved, ·we arrive at the right meditation, and ·we easily commit ourselves to accomplishing the real goal of human life!rnAnd live life in its true meaning, not restricting it to mere growing and dying!! Trauma feels like a storm that tears down the walls you thought were unshakable. But beneath the wreckage, something else waits. Something you might not expect. With time, and sometimes with the right sacred guidance, the very thing that broke you open can also become what awakens yo
