We all have our reasons why we are fat. For many of us the blame game is a never ending loop of why we became fat in the first place. Although most of us have some very good reasons for being fat, it won't make you lose a single pound. Excuses, however legit they may seem won't make you lose weight. The only way to get back to your ideal weight is to face facts and to face the problem without excuses. Regardless of how you look at it, one of the biggest problems we all face is diet. What you eat, how much you eat and when you eat are the only real problems you have. Yes, exercise is important but in the end your diet is the determining factor in losing weight. Diet is an interesting problem since most of us know what we ought to eat, yet we still eat the wrong foods in excess. Why is this? Its because of this unusual diet mistake that so many people suffer from. Its called emotional eating and it's the cause of most people's weight problems. The main purpose of food is to nourish and feed our bodies. However for some people food becomes an emotional attachment. When you eat those yummy donuts you "feel good". This feeling good is a temporary rush of blood though your system and because it only lasts a short time you have to replenish this feeling several times a day. We all want to feel good. When food becomes your means to this end you will have weight problems. Food is not there to give us feelings. Know this and start to notice how you may have emotional attachments to food. Do you eat to feel better or do you eat because you are hungry? Food will never give you long term fulfillment no matter how much you eat. If you are an emotional eater you need to find ways to deal with your emotions and let food be food. One affirmation that you might want to commit to memory is this: "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" This will help you to start moving past emotional eating and get you to be healthy from the inside out. Don't allow your taste buds to control the way you look. Ultimately you have control over everything that passes your lips.
