Is Your Marriage In Crisis?

A marriage crisis usually occurs when an unusual amount of stress, conflicts and anxiety level became too strong for either one or both husband and wife to handle.

Anger, confusion, despair, frustration and resentment ultimately leads to marriage breakdown. They stopped talking to each other and when they did, they ended up quarrelling and even fighting one another.

Some marriage counsellors define marriage crisis as a marriage in which one or both partners desire to end the marriage after a long period of accumulating all those negative feelings and thoughts as I mentioned above.

Everyday, we all face various challenges and trials. Individuals and families alike are always affected by news of natural and manmade disasters like domestic violence, recessions, terrorism, tragic accidents etc. All these are crisises.

But what matters is not how it affect us but rather how do we recover and go on from there. The path to success is never easy but still possible to get there. The same concept applies to marriages.

Whether it is the fault of husband, wife, in-laws or some third party, marriage crisis hurts badly and even more so when they have children. They resulted in high emotional loneliness and made them feel powerless, out of balance and control.

Looking on the brighter side, every crisis leads to solution. This can be a platform that enables you to improve and become a better husband or wife.

The word crisis has 2 meanings in Chinese and Greek. In the former, it means risk and opportunity whereas in the latter, it means decision and turning point.
