The 1st thing would be to make sure that your chair isn't too hard to sit on. Hard surfaces could trigger muscle strain leading to severe pain in the back. So select a chair with a soft seat. Soft does not suggest too soft. You must know that an extremely soft chair isn't good either. It is too comfortable to sit on these chairs which might force you to sit in other comfortable poses. Sitting in a bending or a drooping posture is also not good for you. It also causes strains in the lower back muscles leading to pain. So, a chair that's a bit lesser than the height of your table is best. Rather, opt for a chair that you could adjust according to your needs. For the more vulnerable ones, ergonomic chair is a good choice to keep the sciatic pain aside. These chairs have the technology to provide lumbar support and they also aid in maintaining a good pose while sitting. These chairs are also equipped with support systems for elbow and calf muscles to ensure comfortable sitting. You can easily prevent sciatica and other forms of lower back pain by picking the right chair. So, make sure that you're picking the right chair else be prepared to handle discomfort and pain.
