So, in Part I (Is Your Self-Image One of These Guys?), I left you with a painstaking cliffhanger regarding adding positive truths and beliefs. Remember, this is all in an effort to improve our self-image. To view ourselves in a more positive and empowered light. Now, before I jump right into it. I feel it’s important to stress this one point and make sure we’re all on the same page. In order to live a fulfilling and balanced and healthy life, we need to have an adequate and realistic self-image of ourselves.rnYou have to be honest with you, and I need to be honest with me. Having said that, we can’t just conjure up some new self-image that we want for our self and say that this is the new me for now on. In order to do that, there MUST be some grounds to stand on. Our self-image must be based upon truths that we know and realize about our self. To help you get started in this area – I’m going to give you a few truths. Promise me upfront, that you will NOT merely gloss over these and say, “Thanks Ron, those are great, but anyways, where are we going for lunch guys?” You may or may not have heard these truths prior. If you have heard them – are they engrained in you? Are they in the fabric of your being? These are foundational for me and are among some of the most profound beliefs I’ve heard and hold dearly. 1. You are a child of God. You are God’s highest form of creation. It amazes me how people talk so fantastically and wonderfully about some vacation scenery at the beach or a mountain range or the night sky. Two minutes later these people are verbally abusing themselves in the mirror telling themselves how ugly they are. Or that something’s too big and something else is too small. Know this. That mountain or sky has nothing on you. We have the ability to create. We have imagination. We can formulate goals. And most importantly, we have access to a higher and greater power. 2. God made you perfectly. Now understand that I didn’t say you are perfect. We all have both strengths coupled with weaknesses. That way we must rely on others and God as well as assist others using our gifts and talents. But as I stated, He did make you perfectly. Exactly the way you were meant to be. You are You. You are not like any other person and nobody is exactly like you. You are not inferior to anyone. You are unique. 3. You can do anything. Yeah, I said it. You CAN do anything. God made you to succeed. You have limitless abilities. As I mentioned before, separate other peoples’ opinions from facts and move forward in action. Know that when someone, even a so-called expert, says something is impossible, that’s their opinion. It’s not fact. It’s not truth. Norman Vincent Peale brought this verse to my attention and it has literally changed my life. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) Go ahead. Read that again. So, the question is, what do you do with these truths? I guess, first off, do you believe them? Great, to what extent? For real. These aren’t some cheesy bumper sticker slogans. Please, take these to heart. Think about them. Repeat them in the shower every morning. Live them. BELIEVE THEM. We’ll talk soon, Ron Kawatsky rnwww.ThinkBigBelieveBig.com

While I was waiting for my dance class to start, I watched an instructor patiently coach a couple through what was obviously one of their first lessons. The instructor was having them do a “box step,” which is what it sounds like. A “box” made with your feet. It consists of two parts, a forward half box and a backward half box. Each half box has three steps: a step forward or backward, a step to the side, and a step to close the feet together. The instructor was counting out
