Is it just me or do I detect that things are beginning to shift in the world? Intent.com is definitely part of this cahnge. In additio
I’ve recently had some wonderful conversations with Dutch film-maker Baptist de Pape , composer Han Kooreneefe and with Lilou Mace. The theme in each case had to do with keeping our minds and our hearts open, and endeavoring to live less from the brain and the ego and more from the spirit.

It’s easy to say that - of course - but harder to live it. We have millenia of experience in our DNA that says we should live from the head, look after our own patch of turf, think scarcity, and shut our hearts. That may sound severe, but as a therapist I know just how often people shut their hearts to everyone they know, and then they attempt the same thing with me as the therapist. So they pay me good money to keep on doing the thing that’s hurting them most, until I can persuade them otherwise. It’s not easy, though, because we are in the habit of shutting our hearts to ourselves. It makes life ‘easier’ - or so we imagine.

It doesn’t make life easier. It destroys life, that’s what it does.

But now people are talking, people are exploring, people are asking these questions. And with any luck at all we can start to move, all of us, away from destroying the heart-life that is within us, away from the spiritual suicide that this implies, away from the destruction of our planet that is its outer result. We couldn’t pollute and harm this wonderful earth if we didn’t have a self destructive urge. We wouldn’t have that urge if our hearts were, truly, open.
