The Chairman of KLE Society, Dr. Prabhakar B Kore, felt the need to march ahead into a new millennium as an autonomous University, there by establishing K.L.E. Academy of Higher Education & Research in 2006. Since then, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College is affiliated to K.L.E. Academy of Higher Education & Research.
