Jodhpur popularly known as ‘the Sun City’ is second most popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan visited by scores of tourists round the year. This beautiful city was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan . The city is known as the ‘Sun City’ because of its bright and sunny weather throughout the year.

Mehrangarh Fort:
This is the most famous tourist attraction of Jodhpur known for its elegance in design, decorations and construction. It is the remarkable architecture built in 14th century by the Rathore rulers. The Mehrangarh Fort sprawled over an area of 5 kilometers atop 125 meters on a high hill. The fort is fortified with 36 meters high and 21 meters wide walls. The fort premise has several magnificent buildings, which are known for their elegant design and magnificent decorations that showcase the glory and luxury of Rathore rulers. Umaid Bhawan:
This is another brilliant piece of architecture in Jodhpur built by the Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1928. It is an example of architectural extravaganza built during the British Raj. This magnificent palace is known for 347 beautiful rooms and two huge double domes of 185 feet tall. Scores of tourists come here to experience the charm of yesteryear Raj's culture through its preserved royal arts and artifacts. Some of the known attractions of this palace are ballrooms, royal auditorium, mementos and old photographs, walls adorned with tiger and deerskins, gilded royal furniture and many more.

Jaswant Thada:
This is the red sandstone memorial dedicated to Maharaja Jaswant. It is a marvelous piece of architecture built in 1899. Large numbers of tourists visit this place to see several portraits of Jodhpur royalty. The premise is known for chessboard style courtyard with a white marble cenotaph. Along with this the Jaswant Thada is also famous for its precise trelliswork and marvel carvings.
