Johannesburg is the largest city of South Africa. It is very beautiful city. Johannesburg is the largest city by population in South Africa. The city is famous and also popular as Jozi, Jo’Burg or Egoli. Johannesburg is located in east side of South Africa. The eastern platteu is known as Highveld, at an height of 1,753 meters. The east part of the city is flat but in the north and west parts hills are surrounding.The weather of city is dry, sunny in summers. Johannesburg temperatures are fairly mild because of the high elevation. The maximum day temperature in January is 25.6 centigrade and the temperature drops in June to 16 centigrade. In winter the climate is sunniest but the nights are very cold. The temperature at night is usually freezing and cold. Snow fall is rare in the Johannesburg city.The climate of Johannesburg is dry but it has over ten millions tree and it is the now the major man made forest in the world. Many trees are very old which are planted in the end of 19th century to provide wood for different industries.

A German immigrant Hernmann Eckstein developed these area and called them the forest estate Sachenwald. During the World War 1 this suburb name cjanges in to Saxonwold. The Northern suburbs are Parkview, Houghton Estate, Hyde Park, Dunkeld, Inanda, Sandhurst. The Johannesburg is very modern and wealthy city in South Africa. Johannesburg is the hub of South Africa for commercial, financial, industrial and mining undertakings. Johannesburg is the part of a largest city. The Central Business District covered almost the area of six square kilometer. The city is famous for skyscrapers. The skyscraper includes Carlton Center, Marble Towers, Ponte City Apartment, 11 Diagonal Street and Southern life. The city architecture is very beautiful. Johannesburg has Africa’s tallest buildings which include Sentech Tower, Carlton Center and Hillibrow Tower. The Johannesburg city has tallest buildings on the continents. In Johannesburg there are many international organizations offices are located such as IBM, Absa, Willis Group, Nedbank, Standard Bank, BHP Billiton and First National Bank.

Many of the city’s old buildings are demolished in there place new and modern buildings are built. The Hillbrow is populated residential area of South Africa which is located in North of the CBD. Braamfontein is the second populated place for many offices and houses. There are many parks and garden in the Johannesburg. The City Parks have responsibilities for planting the city with many green tresses. The City Parks has responsibility to make the Johannesburg greenest cities in the world. There are approximately six million trees are in the city. The 1.2 millions of trees are planted on the sidewalks and footpaths and 4.8 millions are planted in the private gardens. The popular recreational park is Johannesburg Botanical Garden which is located in the town of Emmarentia. The Johannesburg jhas many football clubs and the cricket is also one of the most popular sport in the city. There are also clubs for rugby in Johannesburg.
