As the cannabis community advances in terms of functionality and accessibility, new products are being put out every day that have us wondering, “Does this even work?” In your time of smoking joints, you’ve probably come across a few pre-rolled cones in your days, or wraps that require you to add the bud before smoking. Along this line of accessibility, cone rollers have also recently started popping up in attempts to cut down the rolling time of your joints with filter tips. Also known as cone joints, they are becoming popular because of rollers making them easy to make. Rolling cones with a roller is a great option for inexperienced rollers. While both of these products seemingly do similar things, cone rollers and pre-rolled cones could not be more different. Today, we’re comparing these two methods of avoiding the rolling process to truly see which is more efficient. After all, what stoner doesn’t want a way of making smoking easier? What Even is a Joint Roller? rnIf you’ve never heard of a joint roller before, we don’t blame you. These devices have been around for a few years now, but they haven’t really gained much traction until recently. As the name suggests, joint rollers are devices designed to help roll your joint with little to no hassle. Various brands make joint rollers, each one slightly different than the next. There’s no standard model for a joint roller, as these companies are still figuring out which design is most efficient. Typically, you’ll see joint rollers that either wrap your paper around a tube for you to create the cone shape or rollers where you mold the paper around the device and then hold it in place. These products, some slightly more rudimentary than others, do work well when you’re in a pinch. However, the design of joint rollers is often a bit trickier than necessary, leaving you to spend some extra time just trying to wrap the paper in the first place. Sounds a bit counterproductive, eh? At the end of the day, though, joint rollers are a lot easier to use than nothing at all. Most rolling papers are thin, flimsy, and tough to work with, making the process both messy and frustrating. Having a joint roller definitely cuts down that rolling time (and the frustration) even if it means spending some time figuring out the schematics of the roller itself. Defining Weed Cones Smoking cones, on the other hand, don’t require a device at all. Instead, they’re simply empty cones just waiting to be filled with herbs. Depending on the company, these weed cones can be made out of practically any smokable material you can think of. RAW is most notable for its plant fiber and hemp wraps cones, while King Palm is famous for their pre rolled cones with corida leaves. Whether you’re looking for something more traditional like RAW papers or more durable and sustainable like King Palm rolls, the market is full of high-quality cone options. rnUtilizing these cones is so much easier than you’d think. Literally, all they require you to do is pack the cone with your herb of choice and you’re ready to smoke. With this simplicity, it’s easy to see why pre-rolled cones have exploded in popularity recently. So… Which is Better? Of course, this leads us to the million-dollar question: which is better, joint rollers or pre-rolled cones? Like most responses to inquiries within the cannabis world, the answer is a bit subjective. At the end of the day, the product that works best for you is the better product; it’s as simple as that. However, if you’re directly comparing the two in terms of functionality and ease, that’s a different story. Joint rollers are innovative and creative, but they’re just not quite on the level that pre-rolled cones are. Pre-rolled cones require almost no effort and absolutely no skill. For those who hate rolling, or maybe those who simply cannot roll due to a disability or handicap, pre-rolled cones open up a world of possibility. Joint rollers, still, aren’t as accessible at the end of the day. Products like King Palms and their pre-rolled leaf wraps are simply made for everybody. With an included bamboo packing stick and already-rolled design, it’s impossible to say that there’s an easier, more accessible product out there. All in all, we’d have to say that pre-rolled cones beat out rollers any day of the week. (But, that’s just our opinion.
