Are you in control? Want to be in control? Have a need to be in control? Bet you are rarely, if ever, in control. It is a myth that we are in control of anything except for one aspect of our lives, and it is the only component of our lives of which we are in control.

You will experience between 50,000 and 70,000 of these a day. They create actions, influence our feelings and determine the outcome of an event or desire.

It is truly the only aspect of your life you can control. It is your thoughts. Being fully aware of what you are thinking will greatly impact feelings, actions and outcomes both positively and negatively. You and only you can control your thoughts.

Start by observing your thoughts without judgment. Pay attention to what you are thinking. Are they serving you in a positive gentle, loving and supportive way, or are your thoughts negative, demeaning or critical. Even if just 10% of your thoughts in a day are negative you are consumed with 5000 negative influences in your day.

Awareness of these debilitating negative thoughts is a huge step in controlling them. The next step is to change the negative to positive. For example:

Insert thought bubble here: “I will never be as successful as Emma. She’s a real go getter. I don't have the skills to get to her level.”

Change it to: “I admire Emma because she is successful and a real go getter. I bet I can learn how to do what she is doing.”

Shifting your thoughts from negative to positive will reinforce your value, worth, determination and motivation. You will be in control of you thoughts and FEEL in control of your life.
