KalashtamirnKalashtami is also known as bhairava Ashtami, dedicated to Lord Kala Bhairava. He is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Kalashtami day is observed in every month during Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha. There are totally 12 kalashtami day is observed in a year. The Kalashtami day which falls on the ‘Margashirsha’ Month, that day is celebrated as ‘Kalabhairav Jayanti’. Lord Kala bhairava is the God of Time. The word Kaal means ‘time’ while bhairava means an ‘incarnation of Shiva’. He protects the eight directions of the universe. That’s why in all Hindu Temples has an idol of Lord Bhairava.
