Exercise and fitness are such a big part of staying healthy and balanced both physically and mentally. There are numerous sports and activities that can be done daily to help stay fit. The trick is to find something you love to do as well as something you feel you can be consistent with. For me the answer was simple. I spend the majority of the warm months of the year kayaking my way to health and fitness. There are many benefits to kayaking including a fantastic core workout, a sense of calmness and relaxation as well as adventure and fun. Below are five great reasons to incorporate kayaking into your life for a healthier and more positive you. They are: 1. Exercise and Fitness - As mentioned above kayaking is a fantastic way to get some exercise. Paddling works mainly your core muscles as well as your arms, shoulders and back. If you combine this with a hike or a walk in between you will be getting a great all around workout. 2. Peace and Relaxation - In my opinion there is nothing more calming and relaxing than some flat water paddling on a beautiful summer day. When you get tired of paddling you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. You will find yourself deep breathing and slipping away from all the stresses of daily life. 3. Fun and Adventure - Kayaking can be a great way to make new friends, enjoy time with old friends and explore new areas that you may not have been able to get to otherwise. If you are into racing the whitewater rapids then that is a whole different adventure all in itself that will get your heart racing and your gut thrilled with excitement. Kayaking is a great bonding sport and equally as much fun to enjoy solo. 4. Nature - If you like nature, kayaking is a great way to be close to an abundance of animals and nature. The fact that kayaking is so quiet and peaceful you will find that animals will appear and not be scared of you. It is truly wonderful to be connected to the elements and one with the natural world. 5. Great for All Ages - Kayaking is a great way for the whole family to stay in shape and have fun out on the water. Any person of any age can enjoy kayaking and all the benefits that go along with it. Whether you want to lose a few pounds, gain some muscle definition or just get out and have some fun kayaking is an easy and fun activity to add to your life. There are several options for getting out on the water:
  • You can rent a kayak at your local kayak rental office.
  • You can purchase a rigid kayak if you have room to store it.
  • You can get an inflatable kayak which is easy to transport and even easier to store in small spaces.
There are many different models to choose from as well as a wide range of prices. It is not difficult to find a model that will suit every person’s needs and budget. If you can make kayaking a part of your regular weekly or monthly routine you will find your body will feel stronger, your mind will be clearer and your overall outlook on life will be more positive.

Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off. For many, this is why exercise has always been more than fitness; it’s therapy through motion. But not all movement heals. Some styles exhaust, others distract. True healing often begins in the slow, intentional kind, the kind that lets the body lead and the mind follow.rnThat’s where precision-based training, such as re
