Keep on Doing Abdominal Exercises to Maintain a Healthy Body
To keep body strong and injury free you should do exercises so as to strengthen your abdomen. By strengthening the abdomen you will be able to take part in all types of sports activities without worrying about stamina and injuries. Abdominal exercises strengthen spine thereby giving great support to back portion of the body and keeping it in good condition.

¾ sit ups - If you are a beginner then start doing abdominal exercises by practising ¾ sit ups. To do this exercise you have to lie down on the floor by steadying your legs. Then have to slowly bend the legs at knees with your hands holding behind your head. After you attain comfort in the position slowly loosen hips and spine to raise your chest towards knee. Repeat the same procedure for 10 to 15 times. Doing this exercise every day will strengthen your abdominal muscles and give you stamina.
Spider crawl – This exercise should be begun by taking a prone position on the floor. Weight of your body will be supported by hands and toes. In this position your arms should bend and maintain a 90 degree position. Then rise left feet above the ground and bring it towards the elbow position as near as possible. Then bring it back to the normal position. Next do with the right leg. While doing this exercise you will feel like crawling like a spider. By doing this exercise you can strengthen your abdominal muscles, chest muscles, shoulder muscles and triceps.
Cocoon exercise – In this exercise you have to lay down with back on the ground. Legs should be straight; arms also should be straight and reach behind the head. This should be the starting position while doing cocoon exercise. Next step is to tuck your tuck knees in the check position. You should be able to tuck as much lower portion as you can towards the chest region. In the mean time bring your hands it should also be in the chest region by holding the wrist tightly. In this position you will look like the cocoon of a butterfly. After holding for a few minutes return to the starting position. You can repeat the exercise for many times. This exercise will strengthen the abdominal muscles.
Ab roller exercise – In this type of exercise you have to hold an Ab roller with your hands and go down on your knees on the floor. Next step is to keep the Ab roller in front of you and taking a position with hands and knees on the floor, similar to a push up position. This should be your starting position. Next you have to hold the Ab roller and slowly move forward while straightening your body. After staining a stretched position, slowly pull yourself backwards and attain the starting pose. This exercise is not recommended for people with hernia and other back problems.
