Hormones such as testosterone control hair regrowth and hair distribution in your body. Androgens are also pointed out as the root cause of men's hair loss called androgenetic alopecia. Androgenetic alopecia is additionally called male pattern hair loss as it affects males primarily and follows a characteristic pattern in hair thinning. The condition affects men who have genetic predisposition for the condition. Although male hormones enhance hair growth during age of puberty, it has detrimental effects in predisposed persons. That is, androgens can make them bald. Precisely, the male hormone dihydrotestosterone or DHT is primary trigger of androgenetic alopecia. DHT has greater affinity towards the androgen receptors of the hair follicles than other androgens. So, it can easily bind with the androgen receptors in the hair follicles. DHT then expand its unfavorable effects in the hair follicles causing the hair follicles to reduce in size and die. As the hair roots die, the damaged spot on the head losses hair and becomes bald. In reality, the hair roots do not stop functioning automatically. Instead, as you shed your hair, new hair replaces the missing ones. But, the new hair that replaces it's usually short and fine. So gradual hair loss occurs before complete baldness. The androgen dependent areas of the scalp such as the crown are especially prone to the damaging effects of DHT. DHT is produced by the conversion of testosterone with the enzyme five alpha reductase. To prevent the levels of DHT from increasing, you will need a DHT blocker. DHT blockers help keep a good balance in your androgen levels and prevent DHT from expanding its dangerous effects in the hair follicles. It must be kept in mind, though, that the damaging effects of DHT affects only men and a small percentage of females with hereditary predisposition for androgenetic alopecia. It was discovered that males who have no family history of androgenetic alopecia are not sensitive to the action of DHT in hair roots. DHT blockers work by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT. For instance, the plant saw palmetto works by suppressing the enzyme five alpha reductase. It was believed that by preventing the action of the enzyme, DHT concentrations can be minimized and baldness can be prevented. Apparently, inhibiting the action of the enzyme disables the creation of DHT. This treatment method has been successfuly tested. So, supplement manufacturers manufacture DHT blocker supplements including a combination of natural herbs and hair nutrients. The most important advantage of DHT blockers is that they treat androgenetic alopecia naturally. In contrast to some other treatment options, the all-natural components in DHT blockers assure safety and effectiveness. Products including herbs including saw palmetto, gingko biloba, ginseng extract, nettle, burdock and green tea extract are guaranteed to work effectively in preventing male hair loss. More importantly, the ingredients of these products also boost hair regrowth. The action these products would save you from the damaging effects of DHT. It is only extremely important to provide the treatment as early as possible so that total baldness may be prevented.
