Few kitchens ever have enough cabinet space to keep them clutter free. Either the cabinet space is limited, or it’s just not configured right. The secret to keeping your kitchen orderly is to invest in organizers – special shelves designed for certain products or extra shelving in places you’d never expect. Use these and you will have a place for everything – and everything in its place.

Spice racks

Remember your grandmother’s spice rack hanging over the stove? Well the concept is back, if not exactly in that form. Spice racks are one of the best ways to keep your spices organized and close to where you are cooking.

The Spice Stack makes use of the bottom half of one of those small kitchen cabinets. Its three plastic shelves, stacked on top of each other. But you only pull out one shelf at a time. The shelf is made as a pull-out drawer that flips down on hinges so you can easily find what you’re looking for. The three tiers hold up to 27 full size spice bottles or 54 half-size spice bottles. There is room on the end of the shelf to label which spice is in each space. If you prefer, you can keep the Spice Stack on a kitchen counter, even stacking a couple sets for double the storage space. It measures 11 inches wide and deep and 8 inches high.

If you are a spice minimalist – or you want to keep just a few spices right at hand and store the others in a less convenient place – the Spice Clip set holds up to 12 spice jars on the wall or inside a cabinet door. Put it inside the cabinet by the stove and you will have your most important seasonings right at your finger tips. Just pop the spice bottle between the clips. Each set of clips holds four jars, for a total of 12. Each set of clips is 9 inches long, but they can be adjusted by simply cutting apart the strip. One clip alone is 2¼ inches long.

If you want a storage system that also meters out the spices, check out the Select-A-Spice Auto-Measure carousel. This round carousel contains 12 4.5-ounce canisters, held in place on a rotating base. When you need a spice, you spin it around to the right canister and click the button. Out comes ¼ teaspoon with each click. The Select-A-Spice carousel can be stacked if you get two, or it can be attached under the cabinet. It comes with 55 labels for your spices.

Cabinet shelving

Some cabinet shelving is tried and true, like the basic Three-Tier Can Rack Shelf. This vinyl-coated wire rack measures 14 inches wide, 10 inches deep and 10½ inches high. It fits on a shelf and holds up to 27 cans. When you grab one can off the rack, the others behind it roll down, keeping everything in order. Two of these racks can fit in the wide kitchen cabinet, giving you space for 54 cans.

Another dependable shelving system is the Adjustable Door Rack. It comes in two sizes to fit whatever door you are using. The rack features seven 5½-inch deep wire baskets that can store cans, boxed mixes, pasta, gadgets or even cleaning supplies. You can adjust the shelves depending on the height you need. Both racks are 67 inches long and either 18 inches wide or 24 inches wide and come with mounting hardware.

Miscellaneous

There are always miscellaneous things you store in your kitchen that don’t have a designated home in your cabinetry; for example, wine often falls into this category. If you are a true wine connoisseur, you like to keep several bottles on hand. But you hate to take up cabinet space to store it. The 44-bottle wine rack made out of pine wood gives you a wine cellar in your kitchen – or wherever you choose to set it up. You can leave it natural or paint or stain it to match your decor. It measures 40¾ inches tall, 17 inches wide and 10¾ inches deep.

How about all those plastic bags you collect at the grocery store? You want to keep a few on hand, but where do you store them? The answer is a Plastic Bag Holder that mounts inside a cabinet door to keep your bags tidy and in one place. When you need a bag, just open the door and grab the bag at the bottom of the holder. It attaches with either screws or adhesive mounting. Made of plastic, it measures 14 inches long, 7½ inches wide and it juts out 3½ inches.

If you want to make good use of those recyclable bags, you can use them as a trash bag discreetly hung inside a cabinet door – like the one under the sink. The system works just like the racks in grocery stores that hold the plastic bags, only this one attaches inside a kitchen cabinet door. It has rubber padding to protect the surface of the door and holds all sizes of plastic bags with handles. Made of chrome-plated steel, the holder measures 11¼ inches across and juts out 3 inches.

If your kitchen is cluttered, clean it up today with organizers made to solve most problems.
