Have you asked the important questions? As a love coach, I’ve observed that people assume the answers to vital questions, rather than really knowing them after having had a conversation with the person they’re marrying. Or, they’ve asked the important questions years prior and now the answers to some have changed, but they haven't checked in…recently.

These questions will keep you honest and stave off potential conflicts in the future. *Please note: Some don’t have conce
s regarding the answers to the questions below, but some do… So if you care and you're looking to get married, check these out:

• Is your intention to be monogamous or do you want an open marriage?

• Have you experienced any depression or mental illness /is there any mental illness in your family?

• Do you engage in drugs?

• Have you ever been arrested? What for?

• What is your political affiliation?

• Do you want children? How many?

• Can we afford to have children? How many children can we afford to have based upon our total income?

• Will you continue to work when we get married?

• Do you have a certain faith? How important is it that you worship regularly? Do you need me to go with you?

• (If you have different faiths…) What faith will our children have?

• Do you cook? Are we sharing this responsibility when we’re married?

• Do you have any big debts (credit cards / gambling/ guy down the street)?

Marriage takes work and it’s a team effort. Therefore, make sure everyone on the team is well informed so that you can win the game.
