Every beginning has an ending has a beginning
All things come to and end.
Whether you see this truth as a good or bad thing, is entirely up to you, but there is simply no denying it. Everything that is currently going on for you in your life ~ your relationship (or lack of), your job (or lack of), your financial abundance (or lack of), your friends (or lack of) [are you getting the picture?] ~ all of these things will be gone one day.
You've possibly heard it put this way:
This, too, shall pass.
The simple fact is that everything is in a constant state of change. Put another way, change is the only constant.
The inherent truth of this is as frightening for some as it is liberating for others. You can choose to ignore the truth of it; you can even pretend that, in fact, it isn't true at all. But it's kind of like trying to deny gravity. Gravity really doesn't care what you think - it just goes on being gravity.
What does this mean if things are going well for you?
When things in our life are going along pretty well, we're generally pretty happy and have enough money to pay for things, our relationships are in good shape, etc, it becomes very easy to start taking things for granted. For example, your job is going well, you've recently been promoted, so you start to spend money just a little differently - you take the extra cash for granted.
What you may not realise, is that the face of the world is constantly changing and what is an in-demand skill or ability, may not be tomorrow. Think of all the people who fixed the horse-drawn carriages in the years leading up to Henry Ford's introduction of the Model-T. They felt they were in pretty good standing - cars were around, but only the rich could afford them. In the years after the Model-T was released, they found their livelihood directly affected.
The point here is to pay attention to what you have, be grateful (great-ful) for it. Be sure to acknowledge those people who are adding a positive contribution to your life, and always be on the lookout for those whispering winds of change. What might you need tomorrow that you don't have today? Start preparing yourself, for this, too, shall pass.
What does this mean if things are going poorly for you?
Maybe your relationships aren't going all that greatly right now, or possibly you don't have any friends, family or loved ones that you can call on at the moment. Maybe you're out of work or in a dead-end job where your boss treats you poorly. Maybe you're in some degree of financial trouble and are struggling to find a way out.
If this is the case, know that you now have the power and the ability to look at the world in a different light. Be grateful for what you DO have (you're still breathing, right? you're on a computer, surfing the internet, aren't you?) and set out to change just one thing that you don't like.
Take one step, every day, to improving just one aspect of your life, and you'll soon find that your life is drastically different. Even a small degree change in the direction you're heading will result in a large difference of where you end up, in the long run. Start preparing yourself, for this, too, shall pass.
Hopefully, some of you reading this are in loving relationships, possibly ones where you've committed to each other for the rest of your lives. If this is the case, and you're thinking, My relationship isn't going to end, just remember that eventually both of you are going to carry on into the next phase. That is, you're going to die. Without getting into the metaphysical possibilities that may or may not exist, the simple truth still remains that the relationship, as it currently exists, will cease when one of you passes away.
There is no escaping this law. So, instead, embrace it. Know that it's all going to change anyway, so enjoy what you have today, regardless of what that is. Change your perception so that you see what IS, as opposed to what ISN'T.
This, too, shall pass.
When you come across a situation in your life where something seems to be coming to an end, just remember that in every end, there is also a beginning. It works both ways, you know.
Look for the opportunity and take it. It will knock but you still have to get up and open the door.
To your beginnings, which are endings, which are beginnings.
