The waves lapped faster than my racing heartbeat when I slowly made my way into the Kerala Backwaters. It was not less than a water’s paradise, where an array of exotic birds flew past me, the sound of the bamboo creek pleased my ears, where the palms lined on the way side swayed as if they were welcoming me with open arms. Backwaters of Kerala being the most popular tourists attractions is a place which will tranquil you with its beautiful aura. This place can best be explored by boarding a thatched Kerala houseboat, the journey by which will truly be rewarding as it will make you witness the Chinese nets, the scattered dwellings on the way side and will also offer you with the golden chance to witness the lives of the natives by the banks from close quarters. A trip to the backwaters of Kerala will simply be alluring.
Kerala Temples
God’s own country Kerala, is a place which is well known for its spiritualism, it is a holistic land of marvelous temples that are scattered everywhere. One can spot out any of these masterpieces of architectural beauty in every nook and corner of Kerala which is truly a heavenly abode. Kerala Temples are highly noted for their Dravidian style of architecture and also for some of the most common alluring features possessed by these temples which are the sanctum sanctorum, the Gopurams and the finest work of carvings done on their walls, gates and the pillars of the temples. Sabarimala Temple
Nestled in the Western Ghats Sabarimala Temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa , situated on the hilltop the temple offers scenic beauty as it is surrounded by mountains and dense forests . People from all walks of life belonging to any caste, creed, position or social status visit this temple with one mind and one mantra. This temple remains open for worship only during the days of Mandalapooja , Makaravilakku , Vishu and the beginning of every month in the Malyalam calendar. This temple is said to be the most famous pilgrimage centre in Kerala.
Vadakkumnathan Temple
Vadakkumnathan Temple one of the oldest temples in the State, is a classic example of the Kerala style of architecture and has many decorative murals and pieces of art .It is a venue of the world famous Poornam festival that is celebrated here annually in April-May. The most alluring is the spectacular sight of the fireworks that one can witness at the time of this festival. Vadakkumnathan possesses many alluring features that are worth witnessing.
