Eravikulam National Park

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
If your world orbits around colorful and beautiful birds, then this is the place you must head to. It is a home to a wide variety of birds, including the migratory ones. It is ideally located amidst mesmerizing backwaters at a picture location. Covering an area of 14 acres, the sanctuary also offers a boat ride. Wonderful birds like endangered Siberian Crane, brahminy kite, cormorant, teal, moorhen and flycatcher can be sighted here. The best time to visit this sanctuary is from November to February.

Periyar Tiger Reserve
It is a famous Tiger Reserve of India popular for its tigers, elephants, panthers, Lion Tailed Macaque etc. Wonderful avian species like Pied kingfisher, darter, egret are also spotted here. This reserve is located on the picturesque Cardamom Hills in the Western Ghats of Kerala. It was established in the year 1959 and was recognized as a Project Tiger in 1978. You can also take a boat ride in the beautiful Periyar lake in the sanctuary. The best time to travel to Periyar Tiger Reserve is from September to March.

Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary
It is another fascinating destination of Kerala which is well known for its good population of tigers. It also provides shelter to a number of other wildlife species. Even poisonous and non poisonous snakes are also found here. Sprawling over an area of 77 sq km, this sanctuary is very picturesque. The perfect time to visit it is from December to April.
