A PSD file can be converted into a variety of markup languages like HTML or XHTML. PSD to HTML conversion has been used by the developers since a long time by many experienced developers. The reason is that HTML was introduced in the web development market much before XHTML and thus even today more and more of developers prefer to use HTML for converting PSD files rather then XHTML. CSS also has the ability to position elements anywhere in the web page, which eventually improves the customization factor in its development. This web format also brings in the much needed consistency to a web page, which lets the developers to alter the characteristics of a webpage elements, anytime they want.
