At the time of the invention of secretary desk they were not as much as larger as they are today. Because the progress in this trend comes as a part of the complexions brought in by new techniques which really enhances the use of secretary desk though it has got some draw backs but the main concentration is on its usefulness as humans always perform below perfection. The idea of the secretary desk was actually driven to store things but in today’s world mostly used as show piece or decoration piece in homes. But still the main purpose remains the same and people store things despite being used for show piece or decoration so, two in one quality in them.
Large sized secretary desks are actually composed of three parts; the upper case, the middle case and the lower case. They are large in size as compared to traditional secretary desks. The upper case is generally made of small closets and shelves for putting pictures, shields and books etc… The upper case has usually less storing roam; to ensure its firm stand on the ground. The middle case has sometimes few shelves on the upper side and more like a table for study or use of computers or TV. Normally the middle is where the main storage area of the lower case starts or where the desk gets thicker. Because the upper case is thinner with less storage roam. Drawers are normally placed just under the middle case that’s where the base of the stand starts form the upper side. In the lower case you have bigger closets with much larger storing space or sometimes big drawers. These large ones sometimes really don’t have any stand but often they may have, but they are not more than 6 inches taller and more than this height will bring instability to the desk. Actually it’s the lower case that brings stability and firm stand to the desk. They need to be built from high quality wood or otherwise low quality wood will collapse very soon. Large size secretary desks have an advantage over the traditional ones that they can be used as study desk also besides having more space for storage.
