Larger iPads are easier to repair than the iPad Minis
rnApple's iPad Minis are actually the concentration of the valiant and numerous features of the iPads. But just because of the all in one concentrated features sometimes it becomes worse.
Cracking Open this device is quite an intricate matter. The small size, extremely fragile LCD, the super-tiny screws and the other intricate spare parts really makes it extremely frustrating to open, repair or work on the same. Comparatively the larger iPads are much easier to open and repair.
Though the iPad Mini had grabbed the market in an absolutely interesting way for quite a number of years after it hit the markets, but currently many new companies are giving a hard competition to the device.
rnHere are the difficulties that you may face while cracking open the iPad Mini:
Opening the device is highly difficult- The front glass panel is attached to the metal body of the iPad mini with extremely strong adhesive which makes it very difficult to open it up without breaking. The work of removing the panel involves heating the panel edges for loosening the bonding agent and then very softly snooping it away from the body. This process is heavily time taking and an expert can even take half an hour or more of the same.
Relocating the digitizer cable- Unlike the larger iPad where the digitizer ribbon cable is located along the left verge in the lower corner, in the Minis the digitizer cable is transferred to the lower-right corner along the bottom edge making it difficult for a first time working repair professional or the phone owner himself trying to work on this particular part of the device.
The fragility of the LCD panels- The larger iPads have metal-backed LCD panel, which is much more rigid and stronger than that of the Minis which are of plastic backing making them fragile and delicate.
The compulsion of removing the LCD to remove the front glass- If you need to disconnect the front panel you would have to remove the screen and the plates. This is because in the iPad Minis the motherboard connectors for the glass digitizer are positioned just under the LCD and two interior metal plates.
Too much of adhesive- Almost all the spares in the device are help in place with strong adhesive like the front panel, battery, motherboard and many other components. Though all these components are accessible, but removing them is not at all an easy job.
Metal plate which is internally located- In the iPad mini a big metal plate is positioned between the LCD panel and other internal components of the device which also gives some hurdles during the repair process.
The tiny screws- This device uses screws which are one of the smallest that are available in the market. And not only that there has been a lot of them used just in one device, adding to the difficulty of the repairer.
So the brittle LCD panel, profuse amounts of adhesive, the tiny screws, and the small size of the Minis truly makes the larger iPad repair in Dudley.
