You may say, “I am not a writer and English was one of my worst subjects in school… how will I ever be able to write articles?” It’s true, not everyone has the natural talent to write. What Is Your Passion?
One of the best ways to get started in writing an article is first to discover what it is that you are passionate about. Everyone has something they are passionate about. For instance, I am passionate about helping others
make money online and I am also very passionate about alpacas, which we raise and breed for their amazing fiber. I can talk all day about these topics and never run out of anything to say! If you are someone who is disabled, you are probably passionate about others who share your disability. If you love animals, you surely have a passion for them. It shouldn’t be hard to find out what your passion is and from there, you can begin to write about it.
Constructing Your Article
Begin your article with an introduction to whatever it is you are writing about, then go through the meat of the article, which is the ‘body’ and then you’ll want to come to a conclusion, or the end of your article. As a beginner, you may not have the smoothest flowing article, but once you start writing, it will become easier and your articles will become better and better.
The length of your article should be a minimum of 450 words and generally no more than 1000. If you are writing your own blog posts, you want to keep most of your articles at 500 words or less, while still keeping the content useful and important. Many readers won’t want to take the time to read long articles, although occasionally, you can get by with it, IF it’s compelling information. If you have lots of information you want to write about, consider breaking it up into more than one article.
You will want to write your content in a way that captures the reader’s interest. People are much more interested in reading articles that come from the heart and are in simple words. If you get too technical or use big or complex words that someone needs to look up in the dictionary to see what it means, you will not attract as many readers. If your articles are too long and wordy, people may also become disinterested. So, try to
write about things that are interesting and popular. This will ensure that you’ll attract more traffic and as you achieve better writing skills, you’ll learn about including keywords that will help you get ranked higher in the search engines. But, first we have to start off with the basics of article writing.
An Easy Method To Start With
If you really don’t know where to begin, let me share a method that can help you easily get started. For instance, if you want to write an article about ‘passive income,’ type in the Google search box, ‘articles on passive income.’ Whatever subject you want to write about, just search ‘articles on ________.’ You’ll find plenty of articles that other people have written. Now, you NEVER want to copy anyone’s article as your own… that is plagiarizing, and is a definite no-no! But, you can choose someone’s article that may
inspire you to write something in your own words. Do this by just reading the first sentence of an article you’d like to write about and do a little test… without writing the same sentence, think of another way to say it and write it in your own words. You can probably come up with at least 2 or 3 different ways to say something without copying it word for word.
Here’s an example:
Take the first sentence of this article – “Whether you are new to
online marketing or you are a business owner that wants to tap into this huge marketplace more effectively, article writing is one of the best ways to do that.”
Now, let’s take that sentence and write another example that delivers the same message without using the same exact words – “If you’re a business owner or someone who is considering marketing online to attract a much wider audience, one of the best and most effective ways to do that is with
article marketing.”
Do you get the idea? In fact, you may look at someone else’s article and, as you reword the first sentence, you may find it inspires you to write a totally different article altogether. It’s very important that you understand you should NEVER copy anyone else’s article as your own. Sure, you can always hire someone to write articles for you, but you will be much better off if you can learn the skill yourself. Once you get more comfortable with it, you’ll find that it takes you less time and you should be able to write an article in under an hour, often times a half-hour or less.
