Legoland In Windsor Review

Legoland in Windsor offers a fantastic day out for all the family but is primarily aimed at younger children up to the age of around 13 years. For most of the year it opens up around 10 AM and it’s always best to check their website first to know the exact time so you can be there when it opens. I would also recommend booking your tickets online rather than buying them there as it will save you time. If you have your tickets, you can bypass the queues at Legoland and go straight to the turnstiles to gain access. One of the things I highly recommend doing too, is paying the extra and getting their Q bot system that allows you to book a time for a particular ride and bypass the queues. Doing this will really enable you to get the most out of your day and ensure you don’t spend hours standing in a line with bored children. There are lots of fun rides and activities at Legoland and the latest launched in 2011 is Atlantis. This is basically a trip in a pretend submarine through a 1,000,000 Litre aquarium with lots of Lego statues in. It’s great fun for the kids and although you are not completely submerged in water, they have done a good job in making it feel that way. There is only one main roller coaster which is called the Dragon and there is also the Dragon’s apprentice for smaller children. The Dragon is a fun roller coaster that begins by going through a castle with different Lego scenes to be you either side. Once you’ve gone through the castle you then climb up the track and go on a fast ride around. There are various water rides including Pirate Falls which is a traditional log flume with a fairly long river ride before you make the climb to do the drop. You can expect to get wet on this ride and also at Viking falls without fail, so be prepared! Throughout the day there are various shows in the middle of the park by the lighthouse in the lake that children will love as it involves slapstick humour and people falling from the lighthouse into water. They are on roughly every hour from mid-morning until the afternoon. One of the other shows I recommend seeing is the 4d cinema shows that are on throughout the day. Again, you may get wet even in the cinema or even snowed on but it’s great fun for all the family. A trip to Legoland in Windsor should keep you busy for the best part of five or six hours and you may well want to revisit the park at a later date. If you do, look out for special offers as you can upgrade your ticket to an annual pass at a reduced rate if you do it on the day. Also when you arrive at the park I recommend using the preferred parking on the left-hand side, as it only costs an additional five or six pounds and enables you to park right next to the entrance.
