Jammu and Kashmir is a state of India and very famous for its beauty. Kashmir is described by many poets as heaven on earth. Leh ladakh is district of Jammu and Kashmir State. It is famous for its beauty and dry mountains and attracts tourists from all across world. There is a unique fascination and charm in this place and is very much influenced by the Buddhist culture. The dry mountains of Leh ladakh are rarely available in all parts of world. Yak is a favorite animal of locals of this place.

When you visit Leh Ladakh belt, you should see the Hemis Gompa. It is the largest and famous monastery in region. It is located at a distance of 45 km south of Leh. This Gompa was founded in 17th century and was founded by Drupka order. The Hemis festival is a famous annual celebration and is one of the major attractions of this monastery. If you visit the place on a festival season, it is a good thing you are doing. This will become a remembrance for your life.
Thiksey Gompar
This monastery is located 20 km from Leh and is one of the finest examples of art and architecture of Leh ladakh belt. This is located on a hill top and you get statues, swords, wall paintings statues, thankas and different forms of wall paintings. There is a pillar engraved with Buddhist teachings. When you visit this place, it will really make you spell bound. There are people who have really felt the presence of divine spirit in these monasteries. They became big authors later having written several books later on culture of ladakh.
Spituk monasteryr
This monastery is located 18 km from the city of Leh. It is located on hill top near the famous river Indus. There is a Spituk festival held annually at this Gompa attracting many tourists.
