The B series launched by Lenovo consists of budget laptops. It comes with fine look as compared to some other budget laptop. The black plastic design with textured lid gives a pretty much standard look for its class. The mid size 14 inch screen b470 is pretty thick and heavy as compared with other of same class. The aluminum frame might have made lid more durable. The metal backbone inside the chassis prevents the keyboard from getting flex under pressure. On the whole we can say that build quality is good.

The Lenovo Essential B470 have Nvidia graphics card installed on it, rather than default integrated Intel HD3000 graphic card in G570. As we know Nvidia graphics card is about the entry level of GPUs but when it comes to gamming, its performance is really excellent than the Intel HD300 and can give you the nice gaming experience on it.

Design
The design of new B470 "Essential" is quite standard, which has the full black matte plastic with horizontal textured line on its display lid. The surrounding of screen is covered with glossy plastic. That is fine when we talk about Essential business notebook. The only thing that make it different from other business note is it's glossy plastic look. The plastics are weak at the corner. The B470 lid does not have aluminum frame so we can say that lid is not much durable. The hinges are average that keeps the lid in place but it's pretty easy to bend the display back and only somewhat harder to bend forward. The keyboard has hard metal backbone that prevents the keyboard from flexing under pressure. The bottom of notebook has standard matte build which is really tough and sturdy.

The Lenovo Essential B470 comes with 500 GB of hard drive that runs with the speed of 5400rpm. It has 4 GB RAM installed in it, that can be upgrade to 8 GB and gives pretty much good performance . Essential B470 has enabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It runs with the second generatio
