Lerida - A Mountainous Province in Spain

Lerida is a mountainous province located in the Catalan region, in the north eastern part of Spain. The province is famous for many things especially its winter sports. It is a historical province as human settlements were there in the province even in the first century before Christ. In the first century it was ruled by the Roman Empire. Like many other provinces of Spain Lerida has seen many civilizations and its culture is based on that. There are remains of the Roman Empire in the province of Lerida. There is a wall in the capital city of the province which belongs to the Roman Era. This wall played an important part in history in the defense of city. However, many other significant developments were also made in the city in various eras. There are many buildings in the province belonging to subsequent eras.
