Let Go Of The Need To Look Good All The Time

Man, one of the most freeing things that happened to me in 2016, was just releasing the need to look good, to get it right, to be perfect all the time. It held me back sooooo much and I imagine it is doing the same thing to you.

There are so many things you want to experience, so many things you want to do and yet, you do not let yourself because you are so worried that people will think less of you and judge you (some will! Who the fuck cares?!) or that you will make an unforgivable mistake (Mistakes happen, again so what?!) or that there will be no return to this settled life you have created.

Well, you are bored to death, anyway! So you may as well shake things up!

You both judge others who are freer than you and also long to be like them…

And yet, your rules keep you bound in place.

Are you done yet?

You use God as a reason not to try anything new…

You use your family rules and traditions as a reason to stay stuck in place…

You use your past as an indicator of your future which keeps you trapped in a small existence…

You talk about responsibilities like they are some kind of jail sentence and you try to pretend to be happy with them…

You are so dependent on the exte al accolades that tell you how to feel, who you are allowed to be…

And you feel stifled, oh so stifled…

But you tell yourself that this is the responsible life, the holy life, the good life!

Really?!

Can I ask you to think forward a little? Think forward to your final day on this planet. Will you be happy that you stifled yourself?

What if you get to ‘heaven’ and realise that no one was waiting to judge you?

What if you really listened to Spirit within you, right now? What if you paid attention to the fact that you are being called to live a more unfettered existence?

You already know this is true. You sense it deep within you but you are too scared to look in case you get deceived. Your conditioning keeps you trapped in prison. Surely it is time to be childlike again, to allow yourself to dream again, to allow yourself to be free again, to remember that you are created in the image of God and you are born to be free!

So what if people think things about you! Do you really want their opinions/judgements to be the reason you never really lived?

What if everything you were told from the pulpit was just another stifled human being telling you to live a stifled life like them?

You can hear the call within you. the cry to wake up and live. Will you listen and act on it?

Or will you choose the stifled life? the ‘slap a smile on your face’, ‘turn the TV on loud’, ‘help out at church as much as possible’, ‘drown out the truth’, ’suffer with anxiety and insomnia’,’need that drink every evening’ life? Will you keep avoiding the truth that you are simply not happy with the life you are living?

This ‘one foot in, one foot out’ existence is just draining, don’t you think?

I did it so honey I KNOW!

You know there is more to you than this.

All those ideas within you longing for a release, longing to be put to good use.

That big vision within you that refuses to go away.

Yes the deadness threatens to take you over but there is a part of you unwilling to ever give up and give in to the mundanity of an un-lived, unfulfilling life.

It is time to wake up.

It is time to stop allowing the fear to determine your choices!

It is time to deliberately design your life, to reinvent yourself…

It is time to stop going with the flow of your past restrictions.

Notice them and then choose to release them.

Allow the wildness out!

Allow the power to rise up within you…

All that energy you have been using to keep yourself stifled, can now be used to live your real life.

Get that business off the ground…

Ramp up that business.

Choose to believe you can travel and see more of the world…

Choose to have the powerful relationships…

Choose to be truly connected to Spirit…

Then actually DO IT!

Actually start to share your stories…

Start to tell people what you really believe…

Let your exte al world match up to your inner world…

Let the fear of being seen, go!

It is time to wake up and live!

Will you?

Fight for, deliberately design the life you are born to live

Because you really do want to!
