Dukinfield is a town on the south bank of the River Tame and is part of the wider area of Greater Manchester. It is approximately 6 miles east from the centre of Manchester city. Dukinfield is situated where the Cheshire Plain meets the Pennines and is therefore the first town on the hill; because of this sloping base, features of the town such as the park are terraced, with the upper levels being several feet above the lower. Overall, Dukinfield is a charming town with plenty to offer – while it retains much of its historic character, including all the benefits of industrialisation and operates its own independent facilities, it also provides excellent access to all the amenities of the city of Manchester, in particular the transport links, both national and international.
