To meet the ever-growing demand for the lipids and fatty acids, Alfa Chemistry established a subsidiary to specially supply such chemicals. Earlier this month, the company is pleased to announce the release of its fatty acid and ester product line. By now there are hundreds of fatty acid and ester homologs and derivatives readily available for scientists and researchers worldwide. Fatty acid esters (FAEs) are made by dehydrating fatty acids and alkyl alcohol. When the alcohol component is glycerol, the fatty acid esters produced can be monoglycerides, diglycerides, or triglycerides. Dietary fats are chemically triglycerides. “Fatty acids and their derivatives have a wide range of commercial applications. They are a sustainable alternative to petrochemical-based materials and can be used in the formulation of a wide range of consumer and industrial systems. Due to their conditioning effect of softening the skin, FAEs can be added to cosmetics to dissolve high-polarity active ingredients and UV absorbers,” says a spokesman from Alfa Chemistry. In addition, FAEs can also serve as emollients, emulsifiers, plasticizers, mold-release agents, foaming agents for cosmetics, effective wetting agents, pigment dispersants and stabilizers, pearlizing and opacifying agents, moisturizers for winterized and sun-dried skin, waxes, and chemical intermediates. At Alfa Chemistry, a wide range of fatty acid ester homologs and their derivatives are available and can be easily obtained to serve different research and manufacturing purposes. Some of the fatty acids and ester homologs provided are: Pentadecanoic acid, Methyl trans-9-palmitoleate, cis-11,14-Eicosadienoic acid ethyl ester, Methyl 15(Z)-Octadecenoate, 7(Z),10(Z),13(Z)-Nonadecatrienoic acid, Ethyl decanoate, Nonanoic acid, Ethyl tetradecanoate, Methyl 13(Z)-Octadecenoate,rnEthyl heptadecanoate, cis-8,11,14-Eicosatrienoic acid methyl ester and more. rnThe fatty acids and ester derivatives provided include: Methyl 2,6,10,14-Tetramethylpentadecanoate, 3-Hydroxyhexanoic acid, 9(R)-hydroxy-10(E), 12(Z)-octadecadienoic acid, Dimethyl Butanedioate, Dimethyl Decanedioate, 7(R)-Hydroxyhexadecanoic acid, Jasmonic acid-isoleucine conjugate, Methyl 2-Hydroxytricosanoate, Methyl 3(R,S)-Hydroxy-8(Z),11(Z),14(Z)-eicosatrienoate, 3-oxo-octadecanoic acid and more. rnTo learn more about Alfa Chemistry’s fatty acids and esters and other types of fatty acids or lipids, please visit https://lipids.alfa-chemistry.com/ or just email at support@alfa-chemistry.com for suggestions in case of any questions.
