Some people are lucky. A little diet and exercise can help them achieve beach-ready physiques. Others however are not so lucky. Even with the strict diet and rigorous exercise, they still have to deal with the excess body fats that do not go away. Instead of utilizing the stored fats at the belly sides, they continue to get rid of the fats from areas where they prefer to have it like in their breasts. Several individuals are able to lose weight but still have the love handles. In this situation, liposuction becomes the ideal choice.

The Procedure

Liposuction is designed for use on specific body areas with fatty tissue, beneath the top skin layers. This procedure is recommended by doctors for patients with fatty tissue pockets that continue to remain even after undergoing the traditional methods. Patients should understand that liposuction is not designed to be used as a weight loss tool and is not effective for patients that are beyond slightly or moderately overweight. The procedure however can work wonders when performed on patients weighing close to their ideal weight range who are still dealing with love handles that refuse to go away. Currently, a more sophisticated and state-of-the-art liposuction procedure called smart lipo is becoming the hot trend.

Love Handles

Doctors suggest lipo to patients who want to lose their love handles since the body area is not prone to the formation of cellulite unlike in the buttocks and thighs, and even the stomach area. Cellulite formation is the procedure’s enemy since it affects how the procedure can effectively remove the body fat cells. The result will look unattractive and grumpy, showing the cellulite instead of removing it.

Factors

Results from the traditional lipo or smart lipo vary with every patient even from the same well-trained surgeon. Several factors affect the success of the procedure. Compared to younger patients, skin of older patients is no longer that elastic. This leads to loose and drooping skin after removal of the fat beneath it. Individuals with large amount of fat in the midsection will not have the same result as those that only have a little. Several genetic factors can also help determine how well the results will last.
