Are you trying to master the Law of Attraction but having problems? One key is to listen to your dialogue—both what you say to other people and what you say to yourself.

I had a new client of mine ask me why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for her. I found her question to be odd because I heard the ‘negative’ tone immediately. She didn’t. I spoke with her for our hour-long consultation asking her to tell me about her predicament. Here are some examples of what she said:

  • “I never remember to be positive!”n • “I panic when things don’t work out.”n • “I don’t know how to make this work.”n • “I don’t know how to change my thinking.”n • “I try to be positive but then something happens and I n lose it.”

Do you hear what I hear? Everything is negative. Words and phrases like “never remember”, “things don’t work out”, “I don’t know” and “but” all affect our outcomes. Matthew 12:34 says, “…for out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” What you say is a clear indication of what your true inner-beliefs are. Pay attention to your words.

If you find yourself using mainly negative words, make a concerted effort to change it. Remember, what you focus on, expands. Focus on the positive. Instead of the above thoughts, change your thinking to:

  • “I am positive!”n • “Things always work out”n • “I will learn how to make this work.”n • “I will focus on positive thinking.”n • “I will be positive regardless of my surroundings.”

Take a week and see how you can work more positive thoughts into your life. Once you start, you’ll start seeing more good things. What I’m suggesting is not jumping from one extreme to another; that would be impossible. I am talking about bringing gradual and intentional changes of thought into your life. Change your thoughts, change your life.
