“The True Story of Two Potters Becoming Famous”

Once there was a potter who lived in the UK who had some interesting theories about making pottery. He lived a simple life but he was very serious about his craft and worked hard. Then he decided to write a book about the art of making pottery.

Well over the course of a year his book was a hit and the opened a large studio and started having students learn how to be great craftsman. He had a three year course and all his students become great potters and some went onto become wonderful artists. Then as an older man the potter decided to make a trip to Japan to meet one of Japan’s superb potters. They became great friends and the potter from Japan came to the UK to teach at his school. And both of them lived very simple lives in fact the potter from Japan even made his own bed and slept in the pottery studio.

They had very different styles, one was a great draftsman, from his wonderful drawings he make beautiful pots. And the potter from Japan was more free form, whatever seemed to workout for the day became a special work of art. There were no accidents, everything that happened while making a pot was special and thus all accidents became great works of art.

Then one day the potter from Japan decided he needed to return home to Japan and the other potter decided to go with him. Then one of his students said “Why don’t you guys give workshops along the way across the United States until you depart in San Francisco for Japan?” And they looked at each other and decided that was a great idea. So they traveled across US and giving workshops… thus two men who lived simple lives became renowned artists and craftsman around the world.

It’s amazing what living a simple life can lead to… God, The Universe, and Great Spirit has a great plan for every single one of us… all we have to do is follow our heart.

By the way the potters were Be
