Logo Design is not a simple process. Some online logo design companies might make you feel that it is a simple process where you put in an order and they hand you the logo. Well, some of these logo design companies might be this way, but rest assured for all other serious design businesses, logo design is a complicated task. Often referred to as a painful process where designers need to communicate with the clients a lot more than they do while performing other design jobs.
As we all know the importance of a logo in shaping a brand identity and influencing marketing and public relations. Most businesses and organizations realize the importance of this small piece of design and want to make sure that they get a logo that fits them perfectly and could do magic for them.
In order to come up with a logo that fits and can do magic as well, designers and the clients need to discuss many things. These discussions help the designers understand the business and the needs of clients. It also helps them visualize the ideas that could be presented in the initial draft. At some logo design agencies they have special support staff that communicates with clients. Which is not quite understandable to many clients, as to why they wouldn’t let them talk to the designers directly? The design companies argue that designers are not very good at communicating with clients and convincing them which often creates a bad experience for the clients.
This is not entirely true, the truth is that these logo design companies outsource their work to South Asia and China for design and those designers do not speak English. If the designer cannot even understand your language then how could they design a logo for your company? How they would keep in mind the various factors that involve how your target may react to a design?
There are however some smaller and affordable design agencies that allow their customers direct access to designers so that they could come up with good practical ideas for a logo design. In these smaller design agencies, clients can communicate directly with the designer working on their project. It makes businesses feel comfortable that they can talk to the person and tell exactly what they need.
These discussions are complicated and miscommunication is a commo
First of all they need to find out what the client has in their mind. Most often what clients have in their minds is not a very practical approach so designers need to convince them that they should do something else. However sometimes the clients know exactly what they want and in that case a designer can’t force them too much.
Secondly, designers need to understand the nature of the business and how it represents itself to its customers and buyers. Discussing this helps designers come up with a theme and a style for the logo design. There is also a discussion about the other art work company had been using for their marketing and if they would like their logo to match those themes or go for a total new look.
