Lonavala, beholding enchanting waterfalls, snow capped hills and alluring lakes is an exotic tourist destination in Pune. This hill station set amongst the sylvan hills of Western Ghats is also referred as 'jewel of the Sahyadri Mountains'. It is situated at an altitude of 625 m above sea level and provides a spectacular view of surrounding areas. As per studies, best time to visit Lonavala is between the months of October and May. This historic city was the former ruling seat of Chattrapati Shivaji, Peshwa rulers and Britishers. Green surroundings with serene atmosphere provide great relaxation to visitors from all hustle and bustle of modern life. Lake usually dries up during winter season and gets filled with water during monsoon season. In the late evening, tour trip will return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 03: Third day of Lonavala holiday package will start its journey by exploring Karla Caves. These caves stands as a symbolic representation of Buddhism prevailed in India during 2nd and 3rd century BC.
