A clean meal is generally defined as being the complete opposite of conventional fast-food faire. It’s a great aide for losing weight since they’re lower in calories than their junk food counterparts. This is because their competition uses obscene amounts of sugar and oil in order to improve the taste of mass-produced viands, while natural whole food simply relies on proven cooking techniques and quality ingredients. Another advantage of clean food is that they’re a lot more satisfying. Meals have a lot of dietary fiber and protein which makes you feel fuller, longer. Unlike the empty calories in a bag of chips that’s sure to leave you hungry five minutes after you finish it, snacking on fruits or veggies will give you enough energy to tackle the rest of your day. Also, they’re stuffed with a ton of vitamins, minerals and all the other good things absent in overly processed products. Changing your daily meal plan is easy. All you have to do is think out of the box and be prepared to do a little prep work for each dish. Here are some great alternatives for the three main meals of the day. Breakfast Breakfast will be your first hurdle in your quest to only eat clean recipes. Many people are accustomed to starting their day with conventional sugary breakfast cereals. Instead of finishing another bowl of empty calories, why not try some oatmeal? It’s high in fiber and is the perfect carbohydrate source to break your eight hour fast from the night before. It can also be flavored however you please; the possibilities are endless. You can add brown sugar or honey, fruits or cocoa powder, even savory bits like salt and bacon. Lunch Leave that tasteless, greasy thing you bought at the local burger joint at the counter. A good rule of thumb when you’re trying to eat clean recipes only is to always attempt to make your own. A grilled homemade Salisbury steak is guaranteed to be juicier, tastier and have much lower saturated fat content than its fast-food counterpart. Dinner Instead of having some fried chicken delivered, why not try to make a healthier alternative yourself? A couple of pieces fast-food chicken can reach up to a thousand calories; four herb-infused baked chicken breasts don’t even reach half of that. It’s a great choice when you want to eat clean recipes.
