Want to lose weight but don’t quite know how to begin or in fact how to keep going?

I believe there are 2 elements to SUCCESSFUL WEIGHT LOSS.

1. STARTING:

I know it sounds obvious but choosing the “right” day to start your new Healthy Eating can prove very tricky.…..

Does this sound like you? ”I am starting my new diet tomorrow, and so tonight I am eating as much junk food and fattening food as I can in preparation for the new healthy eating!”

Then something happens the next day and you cannot start and so you swear you will definitely start tomorrow…then something happens and it is delayed again, and meanwhile you are still eating way too much…in preparation of the new “diet”.

Now tell me that is not you?……….I have certainly done it, but it IS a little bonkers!

Let’s begin by choosing the right day, and I have some upsetting news for some!!!

Today is the day…it doesn’t matter what time it is, whether you are just about to have lunch and it is not a healthy choice or whether you have just eaten a burger and fries and you are feeling way too full.

One of the best times to start is when you have eaten an unhealthy meal and then go on to eat really healthily for the rest of the day…

AND I say that because at some stage you will be faced with no other option than unhealthy foods, and if that happens you won’t have the excuse of pigging out for the rest of the day and then having to start again tomorrow, because you already know that you can start anytime!!!…….…Do you see what I mean?

Lets face it when you are 10 – 20 – 50 kilos (loads of lbs!) lighter, do you think you will be saying “gee if only I had started at breakfast and not lunchtime” Of course you won’t , you will be just so proud of yourself for starting and Losing Weight!

OK, now it’s time to use your imagination:

Some time in the future you begin eating healthy foods and have started losing weight, then you reach that “plateau stage” and your weight is holding on to you like a piece of gum on your new shoes! You start getting depressed and you feel like giving in to junk foods….

HOW DO YOU KEEP GOING?

That brings us to the 2nd part of Weight Loss.

2. MOTIVATION!

Once again sounds a bit too simplistic doesn’t it?

Well it is, let’s now imagine your best friend had begun eating healthily and had lost some weight and was doing really well, until………..da da da (scary music) she/he reached the “plateau stage”.

Would you say “oh well you tried and failed never mind, have some cake” or would you Encourage and Inspire and try to Motivate her/him to keep going, try something new, keep pushing themselves.

I think if you were a great friend you would try to Motivate them, wouldn’t you?

So be a great best friend to yourself and start being proud of what you are achieving and get the pom poms out and CHEER YOURSELF on!

Cover your house/room/office/workplace/car/purse with post-it notes, photos, articles….whatever gets you Inspired about Losing Weight …….…..remind yourself constantly of why you are losing weight and why you want to Lose more, but in a positive way!

“Phone a friend”: Have 2 or 3 friends that you know you can call who will listen to you and then Push You a little, Motivate You and Lift Your Spirits and get you back on track………
That’s what friends are for right?

So what to do now?

START……

MAKE DECISION TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND STICK TO IT !

And start getting those pom poms ready!!
