I woke up this morning with an old 60’s tune rumbling around in my head, “What the World Needs Now,” and it doesn’t want to stop. It’s not a bad song; in fact it’s quite good and very appropriate for the times we’re in. With so much fear going on, we forget that there are actually TWO core emotions in the world. One is “FEAR” and the other (the one we seem to take for granted), is “LOVE.” They both co-exist in our hearts and minds however they are rarely balanced. This means if one of them is more present in our lives… then the other one is obviously lacking.

Needless to say, it is always a good thing to have more love in our lives because that provides us with a stronger faith in Spirit, more confidence in ourselves, inner peace, acceptance with the unknown, and a far better attitude about life in general. But when fear is more present, we are “lacking in love” as well as all of those wonderful things that come with it. In addition, we experience heightened feelings of doubt, guilt, worry, stress, anxiety, jealousy, rage, impatience, anger, boredom, and insecurity, all of which can easily manifest into a health crisis if we don’t pay attention.

The key to solving this is simple. We need to introduce more love into our lives; whether it’s a new pet, a new friend, or maybe appreciating the current ones more! We should take time out to love and be grateful for everything about our lives because we’re only here for a very short time. I find this remedy blatantly obvious when visiting Hospice clients, or working with cancer patients and their families, even talking to the elderly… they all “get it” and have INCREASED the amount of love in their lives. However, the rest of us seem to be clueless! n
Well, guess what? If you are experiencing “any” of those fearful emotions, this is your chance to fix the imbalance; starting today! Don’t wait until it is too late to tell someone you love them. Stop holding grudges; the past is over, get on with your life and live for goodness sakes! Take time to appreciate and love everything, everyone, every creature and every blessing you have. See everything through the eyes of love and then watch your life change and your struggles fade. They may not go away completely; you will just notice them less which means you are attracting more positive things while experiencing love more. That is the way it is suppose to be!

“What the world needs now is love, sweet love.
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of…”
