In Loving Beyond Reason”, part one, I focused on the importance of developing the capacity to love ourselves and all others with a profound depth of unconditionality. This is the common thread which unites all religions, all humanity all over the globe. So often, clients will come to me and ask me to travel into their past lives or between life times, to help them discover the true purpose of their being in the world. Most of the time, they are look for information like…what type of career should I be developing? What religious beliefs should I be following? Who should I marry? How many children should I have? All of these things are important, to be sure, but they are not usually the reason to be. More often than not, the life purpose of an individual arises in one word such as love, joy, integrity or compassion. Sure we can travel to discover what past connections are about…what skills, knowledge and talents have already been developed, waiting for you to reclaim them…what true desires lie in the heart waiting to be unearthed. But this is not your purpose … your purpose is to develop the capacity to, for instance, love.

Your career, your life situation, is up to you. What can you do with your life which would reflect what you want to develop? I have a friend who is a spiritual healer, psychotherapist and clairvoyant. Her life purpose is to develop her capacity for love and forgiveness (two words in this case). For years, she agonized over her career; what should I be doing? I should be using these gifts! I’m bored! Nothing turns me on anymore…and on and on. Then, out of boredom, she began to write a novel, a fun, bawdy, romance novel about a couple who meet in their sixties and transform their lives and relationships. What fun she had! And guess what? Her heart opened and she fairly radiated love. What started out feeling like unimportant work to her wound up being the very thing that floated her boat and helped her to radiate a glorious love and joy within which all who knew her flourished. Her purpose!
In “Power vs. Force” by Dr. David Hawkins, the author speaks of the exponential effect of radiating a certain frequency into the world and the impact this has upon all others. The most important thing we can do is step into the flow of our true purpose and radiate a frequency of love, light and clarity into the world. Ask yourself the question: “what opens my heart?” Several years ago my daughter accompanied me to a meditation service…just to be nice to her mom on Christmas Eve! Meditation is my thing, not her. Her energy sitting next to me was flat, neutral, still; half way through our hour of silence I felt her heart open and she began to emanate a glow of golden light that most of the experienced meditators in the room had yet to achieve. After we finished and were outside, I commented on this: “About half an hour, you must really have gotten into the meditation after all. Your energy was beautiful!” “No, she said, “by that time I was so bored I could hardly stand it so I took myself back to our weekend of camping in Lowden State Park and was reliving a hike through the forest. It was exquisite.” I learned a great deal from that exchange. It doesn’t matter what path you follow to open your heart. What matters is that you find what it takes for you to open your heart.
In developing our common purpose, our capacity to love, it is helpful to put ourselves into a state of remembrance of being loved. Unfortunately, in this day and age, not enough people grow up with that feeling. If you meditate on only the feeling of being loved and ask to be put in touch with the glorious love of God, celestials and enlightened beings everywhere who are loving you constantly, it may help your remembrance of what it was like to be loved, either in this lifetime, in another or even between lifetimes. It will help you to sink into the grand luxury of abandoning yourself to being loved. It will help you to open your heart. I do suggest at least a daily half hour of meditation in a quiet, comfortable space where you will be undisturbed and not required to engage in cognitive thought. Ready? Remember love and watch your life transform.
