The glycemic index also referred to as GI is a measure of carbohydrates effects on blood sugar levels. So, Glycemic Index ranks carbohydrates foods according to their glucose levels. Low glycemic foods helps in keeping blood glucose level more stable as these are broken down gradually over the time. It's just opposite; high glycemic foods cause a rapid rise in blood glucose level as these foods are absorbed quickly.
