If you are searching for a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Program in California and can’t find one, then you must try for a LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) program. In California LPN program is more often called a LVN. Confound with the terminology? Basically, a LVN is same as a LPN. In some of the states LPN is known as LVN as in California. There are 182 programs for LPN/LVN training in the state. LPNs are well educated and skilled and have a knowledge equivalent to a RN (Registered Nurse). They undergo 12-18 months of training in some medical assistance school and then have to clear a certification exam to get a license for working as a LPN. The major benefit for a LPN as compared to RN is that LPN can start working after completion of 12 months of the training.
LPN perform multitasks at same time and are highly efficient in time and illness management. There are two separate training programs for LPN training. You can opt for a regular full time course, or, can go for an evening class based part time program. The duration for the course is 40 weeks for the full time regular course and 60 weeks for the part time course. In both the courses you will be taught same skills and learn same subjects. The average salary for a LPN is $54,600-$68,650 per year and an hourly wage of $27.54. If you feel this salary insufficient for you, you can go for a LPN-AND/LPN-BSN program and can be a RN (Registered Nurse). There are 73 LPN-RN transfer programs in California. California is one of the largest states in America not only in terms of geographic land but also in terms of residents and population. This pushes for the number of facilities and healthcare centers in the state. Ultimately, this leads to the increase in the number of the job openings in the state. As more and more people are migrating to California more job openings are merging. This winds-off any hitch regarding job assurance in California as nursing assistance whether it is a CNA or a LPN or a RN.
