MAGNETIC RESONANCE (MR) is a test that uses an electromagnetic field in the diagnostic process to create a detailed picture of the anatomical structures of the human body. With the help of this examination, photos are obtained that, with an accuracy of a few millimeters, allow for advanced diagnostics of a number of medical problems such as tumors, developmental pathologies, stroke, spinal diseases, joint diseases, and senile dementia.
Magnetic resonance imaging is used in situations when it is necessary to deepen the diagnosis and when the result of computed tomography is ambiguous or doubtful. The indications for MR examination, instead of or in addition to CT, are related to the type of disease, the patient's age and the diagnostic problem.
