Respect is the core value that builds trust and eventually creates lasting relationships. When people respect and trust you, they will do business with you. So how to show respect? Here they go. Show Up In Meetings On Time Showing up in meetings early or on time is one way of showing respect to the person you have an appointment with. If something unavoidable came up that may cause you delay, let the other person know at least a few hours before the appointment. Waste a customer's or partner's time and you might lose them in the long run. Keep The Line of Communication Open Show people that you are interested in them. When they call, answer or return their calls. Let them feel that they can talk to you. Encourage and Support People Whenever someone needs your help and attention, may he be an employee or a client, be ready to help them. Encourage them and share your ideas on about the situation. Be Considerate Be sincere in giving people feedback. Congratulate them for a job well done, or make that as a reinforcement to do good at all times. When you see something negative, speak to that person in private and deliver the negative feedback in a positive manner. Always remember that every failure or poor performance is an opportunity for growth. Always Have A Plan When you call for a meeting, make sure that you have an agenda prepared. If you need help in the preparation, get in touch with key persons ahead of time rather than pulling them out on the last minute. Also, send meeting markers or invites at least a few days before the meeting. This will give your attendees time to prepare as well. Show some respect and you'll never know where it takes you.
