Implants are the teeth replacements which look very natural. After a certain period of time dentures become loose and unstable, on the other hand implants look much better than traditional removable bridges. There are dedicated dental implants clinics which specialize in implants. It is their core business and they treat lots of implant patients. Their prices are usually cheaper than a general dentist who places implants occasionally. This modern advancement in dental health enables the patient to visit the dentist in the morning, have a Mini Dental Implant placed in about an hour or two, and leave his office with stable, secure dentures attached to the implants – this is why they are normally known as: same day implants or single day implants. Really, teeth implants are so natural-looking and feeling that the person may forget that he had ever lost a tooth. It is also known that assurance level about one’s teeth affects how he feels about himself, both personally and professionally. Some persons hide their smile due to spaces from missing teeth. There are also some persons who have difficulty in chewing. So, there is good news for the persons who are missing one or more teeth and those who would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence. Dental implants are teeth that can look and feel just like your own. Under proper conditions, such as placement by a periodontist and diligent patient maintenance, implants can last a lifetime. Long-term studies continue to show improving success rates for implants. Dental implants do the following things: (1) Replace one or more teeth without affecting bordering teeth. (2) Support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture. (3) Provide support for a denture, making it more secure and comfortable. The following types of dental implants are used today: (a) Endosteal (in the bone): This is the most commonly used type of implant. The various types include screws, cylinders or blades surgically placed into the jawbone. In this case each implant holds one or more prosthetic teeth. This type of implant is usually used as an alternative for patients with bridges or removable dentures. (b) Subperiosteal (on the bone): These are placed on top of the jaw with the metal framework's posts protruding through the gum to hold the prosthesis. These types of implants are used for patients who are unable to wear conventional dentures and who have minimal bone height.
