One of the more important things that you should do is to keep in contact with your customers regularly. One of the better ways for you do this is using social media, such as Facebook and twitter. Those types of networks give you the opportunity to contact people about specials that you are running as well as to remind them from time to time that you are still available for their needs. It is important for you to understand, however, although social media can be an excellent way to do this, it still needs to be used responsibly. Most social media platforms are not there for you to promote your business but rather, are there for you to build relationships. Make sure that you don't put the cart before the horse by blasting advertisements to your list or they will simply ignore you.
Another excellent way for you to keep in contact with your customers and to learn a little bit about what they would like is to incorporate the use of a survey software tool in your business. When you use survey software, it not only allows you to ask questions to your customers in order to build your business, it also acts as a secondary way for you to contact those who might be interested in what you have to offer. There are going to be different methods of using this type of software to your benefit more fully. For example, many businesses offer rewards for those that fill out the surveys but bear in mind, doing so may lower the quality of the surveys that are taken.
Outside of contacting customers, it is also possible for you to increase your bottom line by lowering your expenses. Believe it or not, many businesses tend to forget about doing this but small changes really add up and can make a difference in your staying in business in many cases. For example, moving to an area where the rent is lower may help to sustain your business for quite some time. Even if you are staying in the same building, adjusting the temperature by a few degrees can make a difference over the course of a month. Look for ways that you can cut corners without cutting the quality of the products that you are providing. I'm sure that there are plenty of ways that you can do so to your benefit.
