Make It Happen for You

Have you ever spent time, talent, and money helping someone else make their dreams a reality? Have you ever heard the saying, what you make happen for someone else, God will make happen for you? Sometimes the best way to stay motivated is to get involved in something worthwhile. It does a lot to boost the self- esteem and helps ward off depression. When you feel appreciated by others you experience feelings of self-worth. Most importantly, our Lord Jesus said, it's more blessed to give than to receive. All these rewards are reasons to be supportive of others, however there comes a time when we all need to invest in ourselves.

Here are a few ways we can invest in ourselves: furthering our education, starting a business or ministry, or simply making a commitment to take better care of your health. Whatever we decide to make a priority at is the thing we need to start and finish. Many people make New Year's resolutions, but few ever make their declarations a serious goal. As people of the most-high God we should continuously be working to improve our character. Take a serious look at the past year of your life and determine who you have invested the bulk of your energy, money and thoughts developing. I'm simply trying to get you to paint a clear picture of your present state. Maybe it's high time you start making your own dreams a real priority.

If you are a parent, educator or someone whose primary job is to protect the wellbeing of others on a daily basis, make time to be sure you haven't put your own life on the back burner. It takes a special kind of person to be selfless enough to put others first. However, there comes a time when God wants you to put your dreams first and accomplish the things God has created you to do. He wants to show himself faithful in every area of your life. It's not selfish to let God have His way in your life, as long as you are not your only priority one hundred percent of the time. Putting your dreams first might take some getting used to especially if you've been in the role of nurturer and backbone of others. In the beginning you might experience feelings of guilt, but not to worry. You must go through this change if you want to grow into the place God has for you.

Transitioning from the back of your thoughts to forefront requires a major change in your thought process, but you will overcome as you continue to be steadfast and obedient to God's plan. Sometimes you can wait so long you become comfortable in waiting itself. Ask God to lead you and guide your steps, He knows what you need and what you can handle. When you begin to walk in the fullness of your destiny those connected to you will experience a greater level of freedom as well. If those close to you don't grow with you, it's time to make a choice about whether or not they are meant to be apart of your new life.

You won't get approval from everyone close to you, but remember the primary goal is to please God, not man. God will deal with your loved ones on your behalf; your job is to be obedient to God's will for your life. God will bless them through you after you have come into your own. This article is for those who have dedicated years of their life and time taking care of other's needs, and putting themselves last. This is not meant to encourage selfish people to continue their quest for self-gratification. If you are more of a giver than a taker these words are intended for you.

Not everyone has waited for years to fulfill their dreams, many have accomplished their goals early in life, and I congratulate them for their success. But for those of you, who are still burning inside with unfulfilled purpose; know that this is your season of breakthrough. There is no better time than the present. You are not reading these words by accident. This is your spring board to move forward, be bold, be courageous and be obedient. Your reward will be greater than you have ever dreamed. God rewards those who wait on Him. Your sacrifices have not been in vain, but rather they have caused blessings to be stored up, and waiting for you to claim them. The blessings of God will chase you down and overtake you, don't become fearful and turn back. Pursue, overtake and recover all, so you can be the lender and not the borrower. Friends your time is now, don't waste precious time asking why me, or why now. Just keep your eyes on Jesus and keep moving forward!
